StarBuzz Weekly, Toronto-On Sunday, February 26 the Brampton Library is hosting an opportunity for creative individuals and groups in the community to showcase their work.
Creative artists in the community are invited to participate by exhibiting their work at the Rose Theatre, as part of the “Family of Brampton” event that the Library is presenting in collaboration with the Brampton Festival Singers.
Artists working in all mediums are invited to participate in the Artist Showcase, and exhibit their work between 1 pm and 4 pm on that day. The “Family of Brampton” event is a day-long event at the Rose Theatre that is designed to bring attention to the vibrant arts and culture scene in Brampton. Following the Artist Showcase, there will be concert by the Brampton Festival Singers, and performance arts.
“We’re looking forward to involvement by artists who work in a variety of different mediums,” says Marcelle Kwok, who is coordinating the event on behalf of the library. “Textile arts, photography, painting, jewellery...this is an opportunity for the creative people in our community to share their craft with a wider audience.”
Exhibit tables are available on a first-come, first-served basis at a rate of $25 per table. Kwok notes that participating artists may also choose to prepare mini-workshops or demonstrations at their tables, showcasing their talents. Sales of the artwork and crafts is also permitted.
“It’s a wonderful opportunity for artists and artisans in our community to network and gain exposure for their work,” says Kwok.
