Jennifer Lopez Chooses Tom Cruise As Godfather Of Her Newborn Twins

Actress and singer Jennifer Lopez has reportedly chosen actor Tom Cruise as the Godfather of her newborn twins Max and Emme, both whom she just welcomed into the world in late February along with her husband and father of the twins, singer Marc Anthony.




La Lopez allegedly had to do some real convincing to get Marc Anthony (full name Marco Antonio Muniz) to agree to the decision with some hesitation and resistance to the idea. Sources say the values of Lopez and Anthony's traditional Catholic upbringing paired with newly appointed Godfather Tom Cruise's Scientology involvement, may cause the parents of Lopez and Anthony and their respective families to be uncomfortable with Lopez's decision.

Jennifer Lopez Gives Birth To Twins; Marc Anthony and J. Lo Proud Parents of Baby Boy and Girl

It's official as of Feb.22 at 12:12 am Jennifer gave birth to her first child a baby girl weighing 5 lbs. 7 oz, and then the boy was born 11 minutes later at 12:23am, weighing 6 lbs.The twins where born at North Shore Univeristy Hospital on Long Island, New York. Both children are yet to be named.


A statement from La Lopez's manager, Simon Fields reads:

"Jennifer and Marc are delighted, thrilled and over the moon."


The twins are Jennifer Lopez's first and second children, while Marc Anthony has 2 children from his previous marriage to Dayanara Torres and 1 daughter (Arianna) from a former NYPD officer. The arrival of the twins makes Marc a father for the fourth and fifth time.

This week Marc Anthony is set to perform a free concert for NBC's Today Show in NYC.




Then this weekend, Jennifer Lopez and Marc Anthony are scheduled to appear on the red carpet at the NYC premiere of their latest joint effort, the film El Cantante. The film tells the story of the late Puerto Rican salsa singer Hector Lavoe and his wife, Puchi, played by Marc and La Lopez. The film premiered in Puerto Rico last night and Lopez and Anthony looked fabulous on the red carpet, greeted by screaming fans.
