Danity Kane (pictured above; left to right: Aundrea, Aubrey, Shannon, Dawn, D. Woods) were out in full force last night for both their album release signing for their sophomore effort "Welcome To The Dollhouse" at Best Buy in Midtown Manhattan, NYC and just a short time after, their album release party at the celebrity nightclub hotspot TenJune in Manhattan.

I bought the album and met the girls at the signing. All of the members of Danity Kane are as beautiful and charming in person as they are on the show Making The Band on MTV.

Now that Britney Spears has released her new single Gimme More to radio stations last week, the buzz is that the pop star will open the MTV VMA's on Sunday night in Las Vegas with a performance of the song from her upcoming album.

Spears' last memorable performance at the annual awards show was in 2003 alongside former rival Christina Aguilera and mega superstar Madonna.

Reportedly, Britney will integrate an illusion by her alleged new beau magician Criss Angel into her opening act.

Rapper/mega producer Timbaland has voiced his skepticism about Spears performing at all. Timbaland is the Musical Director of this year's awards show on MTV.

Backstreet's back, minus one member. Kevin Richardson has either left the band or decided to sit this album out. I'm sure we will all find out soon enough via Nick Carter when BSB start to do promotional press interviews for their new album Picking Up The Pieces (which is being released in late October 2007).

The first single Inconsolable is great in typical BSB style.
