StarBuzz Weekly, Toronto-“A goal without an action plan is a day dream” Nathaniel Branden Amar Karma Organ donation society which started operations in January 2011, and at the first seminar they had presented their “map of words” with their goals and mission.
Saturday, December 10, AMAR KARMA ORGAN DONATION SOCIETY discussed the successes and accomplishments of the year 2011 at Chris Gibson Community Centre. At this final event of the year, Roxana Chirriac, Event Manager of the society presented the project map for 2012 where as Anjanie Tiwari; Provincial Volunteer Coordinator reviewed the successes of the year 2011. Some trivia games were also played to involve the volunteers of all ages and small prizes were distributed.
At this time, prominent members from Taraksheel Society were present along with volunteer members of the society. The society has great plans in store for the upcoming year, and Loveen Kaur Gill appealed to the community to involve their families as the mission belongs to the entire humanity. Gill also ridiculed the institutions that offer volunteer hours to the students without having to do any work which not only defeats the purpose of having the required volunteer hours for graduation, but also takes away the volunteer force away from them.
Amar Karma’s upcoming event is second annual “Give a Heart 2012” that would take place on February 4, 2011 at Shingar Banquet Hall. This event is society’s way to celebrate Valentine’s Day by involving youth to advocate the actual giving of heart by donating it. Some speech competitions are also under plans for this event along with dinner and Dance.
