StarBuzz Weekly, Toronto-Award winning master choreographer, Longinus Fernandes, who did the dance arrangement for the globally renowned song ‘Jai Ho’ from the equally famous movie ‘Slumdog Millionaire’ was recently in Brampton , ON . He was invited by Tré Armstrong, judge of ‘So You think You can dance Canada’ to kick off the Bollywood classes at her new studio, ‘A New D.A.E.I.’, on Rutherford Road South, Brampton. Tré’s studio will also teach jazz, ballet, salsa, hip-hop among many other dance styles with a strong emphasis on Bollywood. Longinus also showed how to blend Bollywood moves with Latino salsa and hip-hop, which is growing in popularity in Bollywood films. Tré will also hold classes on how to approach dance and entertainment as a business. Tré and Longinus both feel that Bollywood is not a passing fad but a growing trend- something that will become as much a part of North American culture as yoga. Longinus adds: “And it will lead to many more collaborations between Bollywood and Hollywood .”“Yes,” says Tré, “Hollywood North will meet Bollywood West right here in Toronto !”
